The Ministry of Labour, Ministry of Education and Higher Education, the GIZ, the European Union (EU), the Belgian Development Cooperation (BTC), and five Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions have launched the 2016 “TVET Week in Gaza” under the theme of “Transforming Skills into Work”.
On the 14th of September, the Belgian Consul General Mr. Bruno Jans and the Palestinian Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr. Sabri Saidam signed a 9 million euro agreement to support the education sector in Palestine. This contribution will be disbursed to the ‘Joint Financing Arrangement’ (JFA) fund. The JFA is a pooled fund that provides support to the implementation of the Education sector plan of Palestine. It was established in 2010 and is supported by Belgium, Finland, Germany, Ireland and Norway.
Ambassador John Cornet d’Elzius and the Consul General of Belgium in Jerusalem Bruno Jans visited last Tuesday the “Save a Child’s heart” clinic at the Wolfson Medical Center in Holon. The clinic provides free pediatric heart surgery to children from developing countries. Tuesdays are dedicated to helping Palestinian children. Many thanks to Brussels Airlines for setting up this visit. With the support of Brussels Airlines which provides free flights, 120 African children have been helped so far by Save a Child’s heart!
